Choosing Between Free and Paid Licenses
A Guide for Academic pricing
Free Academic license
The free academic license offers students, researchers, and educators powerful tools at no cost – but it comes with strict usage limits. Ideal if you are getting started in the academic world, the focus is on learning the software’s capabilities.
Here are what you can expect:
- Full Functionality: The free version provides access to all core features, ensuring that you can use the software effectively for most research and teaching purposes.
- Limitation on Materials: One key restriction is the limit on the number of materials that can be used in a single model. This is important to consider if your work involves complex models with diverse materials.
- No Reporting Module: While the free version is robust, it does not include the reporting module.
Paid Academic license
For advanced users or larger projects, the paid academic license offers additional features that may be necessary for more comprehensive research or collaborative projects.
- Unlimited Materials: With the paid version, you can work on complex models without worrying about the number of materials used. This is particularly important for large-scale or multidisciplinary research projects.
Advanced Support: A paid license comes with additional support, which can be valuable if you need assistance troubleshooting complex problems or optimizing your workflow.
- No Reporting Module: While the free version is robust, it does not include the reporting module.
