November 29th Optum is attending the 7. annual Geotechnik Fachtagung in Switzerland. We will be hosting a workshop which gives the attendees the possibility to work with the newest development in the area of Finite Element Limt Analysis (FELA).
The theme of the conference is Geotechnical design with new technologies and the aim is to demonstrate the progress in geotechnical design, to compare with conventional hand calculation methods based on plasticity theory as well as the link to the standards SIA 260-260 and EC7 and in particular the correct handling, demonstrate the possibilities and limits of application of the latest numerical calculation methods and design methods.
The various methods will be explained by experts from leading design firms, companies, developers and builders including our own workshop.
The workshop is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Kristian Krabbenhoft and will consist of 4 blocks of 45 minutes:
1. Limit Analysis
2. Strenght reduction analysis with application to slope stability
3. Elastoplastic analysis with application to deep excavations
4. Probabilistic analysis
Furthermore Kristian will give the first keynote lecture of the conference with the subject “New tools for geotechnical deformation and stability analysis”.
