In this talk, Dr. Ha Bui explores computational geomechanics advances for predicting onset and post-failure of geomaterials beyond small-deformation limits. Applications include slope-stability and debris-flow analysis, strain localisation, and soil-structure interaction. Emphasis is placed on scaling challenges and the emerging Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method’s potential in large-deformation geotechnical modeling.
